Mike would stop Jerry without much trouble.

Lou Nova used to work with him. And they'd play hide and go seek for a gas, because Jimmy was shite at hiding. And when he'd see Jimmy behind a curtain or something he'd yell "Hey, Abbott!" and Jimmy would come out all , you know...ahhhh, they had fun.

Sounds like you have been watching the wrong fights, the ones of an old Quarry. Sure Jerry lost some fights and he looked like shit in 2nd Frazier, Norton and Zanon fights, but he way past his prime. Look at Tyson, lost Danny Williams and Kevin (****ing) McBride.

If you take the best Mike Tyson vs the best Quarry (say vs Thad Spencer or Lyle or Shavers), you have a really good fight.

First off Quarry would not be frightened of Tyson, no way, no how.
One of Tyson's biggest advantages was the fat ass heavys of the 80 were scared to death of him.

Quarry could really move and counter punch. Plus could take a great shot. And he could punch.

Tyson really wasn't that good inside fighter, no where good as Frazier.

The best Tyson would probably beat the best Quarry, due to cuts. Quarry always seemed to get cut in the big fights.

Quarry was wildly unpredictable, but at his best, he gives Tyson hell.

I agree Quarry was way under appreciated. He was a highly skilled hwt in his prime and his hook could floor anyone. I think he does well against Tyson and as one poster pointed out Quarry sure as hell won't be afraid of Tyson. I see Tyson winning on a cut in 7 but Jerry doing well up to the very end. Also....most hwts today carry extra baggage and who knows how many hwts from the past 25 years were using steroids.

Jerry had some nice skills on the offense side but his defense was nothing great, or even average for the upper echelon. Whether it was bravado or machismo he made himself pretty available for punches. Scared of Tyson or not (and why is that he is supposed to be so much braver than Berbick, Thomas, Holmes or Tubbs?), he is going to eat leather and eat it fast. I give a high chance for an early blowout here. Tyson hit hard and he overwhelmed with speed. That's a bad combination for someone who wants to be a tough guy against Mike.

And I love the concept that any guy who bullies the bully is going to win. Yeah right.

Tyson by TKO in 4.
I agree. Bigger, faster than Frazier and with real two-fisted power .
Jerry gets stopped early here cut, and groggy.

Quarry wasn't afraid of Frazier either, that didn't stop him from being beaten up twice.

The way Quarry fought Frazier both times, he'd get blasted out by Tyson.

Sure, Frazier had assets and abilities that Tyson didn't have, but on the other hand, Tyson had an overwhelming quickness from the opening bell that Frazier didn't bring.

Jerry Quarry at his quickest, slickest, cleverest and toughest, just doesn't have the tools to keep Tyson off.

Tyson was a better fighter in absolute terms, AND with the stylistic advantages.
