Whenever I'm finished with my bench set, for couple of days after it really aches just above my elbow and below the tricep, is this normal?
The set isn't anything special, 8 x 5 at 65kg plus bar (all my weights ) once, occasionally twice a week but usually 4 days apart at least.Overtraining? EDIT: If it helps, this is on top of 10 hours per week kickboxing too, not that it probably matters

No, it's not normal.
It could be any number of things, ligament/tendon damage, sprained tendon/ligament, lack of flexibility, hyper-extended the joint, you won't know until you get it checked out. On here people can chuck out what they think it may be, but until you get it checked out you won't know for sure. The basic thing is if something hurts don't do it, unless you want it to get progressively worse. That's speaking from experience. Go see a specialist. |

same thing happened to me around 2008. I was doing a weightlifting program called "blast your bench" which was essentially a program to get your bench press to crazy numbers. My right elbow was killing me. Just rest the elbow for a few days, and you should be fine.
