Default does anyone else think that groves might actually hit as hard or harder than froch?

i dunno but it's just his last opponent had a great chin and groves dismantled him. he also dismantled smith worse than degale did. it's just that everyone he lands a big shot on seems to go to pieces. whereas froch is heavy handed but is more of a combination "puncher" when he gets his opponent in trouble. kind of like when he troubled bute in the last round and used a combination of big punches to finish him, whereas groves usually steps back and looks for his big shots more cautiously.

yeah possibly.

Wouldnt say Groves is so cautious though. He seems to load up and leave himself open but gets a lot of one punch power as a result, whereas Froch hits hard but punches in bunches. In the Bute fight Rob McCracken said that Froch had been training more for speed than big single shots

Froch has never hit anyone as hard as Groves hit Smith.

Hard to say based on resume so far but groves looks the bigger puncher

to be fair, it wasn't even a full on hit - but still put smith on ***** street. smith totally lost his legs.

this was a total annihilation of a solid fighter with a mexican chin.

I think it's perhaps related to the level of opposition that Groves may appear to be the bigger puncher but I don't think it's necessarily true. It's my personal belief that Froch is p4p one of the biggest punchers in the sport right now; everyone he connects with he seems to put on ***** street. I reckon Froch has a big year ahead of him in 2013 and I reckon we'll be seeing him KO the likes of Bute/Kessler in rematches.

I'm pretty sure Sierra had been stopped three times previously. Wouldn't say he had the famed Mexican chin.

That's the fight i'd suggest to disprove this. Groves has some true power no doubt but until he's on the same level as Froch and fighting people of the same quality as Froch has fought it'll be a bit of an unknown quantity. The Glen Johnson fight is a good measuring stick for it though, and whilst i don't expect Groves to stop Johnson, if he did that'd be a great scalp to support such that belief.

On a one off right hand straight down the middle?

I guess Groves might hit harder. But boxing lasts rounds and minutes, Froch has strong punches from random angles for 12 rounds, so its all relative.

Groves is more of a pure puncher and has excellent timing.

Froch is just very heavy handed!!!

On one punch power probably Groves edges it but Froch hits harder in combinations
