Default why are we not producing any solid 140lb & 147lb fighters?

in british boxing at the moment, we seem to be producing a lot low and high weight fighters, but not enough light welters and welters. we got the bantamweights, we got the flyweights, we got the super middles, middles, and heavyweights, but not enough welters and light welters. we need a few coming through who can provide a solid test for the likes of broner, rios, matthysse, bradley, etc. we have kell brook and (although not sure about him) amir khan, but we need more.

why do you think this is?

we got a ton of good lightweights, i'm sure some of them could move up to LWW, so I don't necessarily know what the problem is.

You're unsure about a guy who's won two world title's yet you're good with Brook? Ok.

Because fighters aren't fighting at that weight because they feel better at lower or higher weights. I wouldn't say there's much reason behind it.

It's like in school you get a really good year or two at football and the odd poxy one. Then all of a sudden Year 7 the next year is brilliant (new batch of LWW and WW).

Just happens like that..

Khans beat Kotelnik, Maidana, Malignaggi and Judah at 140 lbs not a bad list of top fighters for a guy you are not sure about.

Burns I think wouldn't be undersized at 140 lbs but seems to be making weight at 135 lbs easily enough that he likely won't or doesn't need to move up.

Brook at 147 lbs if he manages to beat Alexander well be another.

Khan and Brook are respectable fighters at 140 and 147.

Britain will rarely produce a tonne of talent in each weight class. When we have its partly to do with a weak division and partly to do with the best not being eliminated by the best i.e. Murray, Barker and Macklin at 160.

Still criminal not at least one fight has been made yet!

Too many fighters seem scared to lose to domestic rivals.

Why am I not producing enough solids? I'm eating plenty of fibre.

yeah but would you rather favour khan in a fight with a big puncher or brook? brook has at least shown his punch resistance is there, whereas khan - well......
