Dan Rafael said in his chat today that Bute- Rodriguez could happen in March on HBO. Said it might be some split-sight doubleheader with Pascal-Dawson 2. Also says Froch is really pushing for the Kessler fight instead and is trying to defer the Bute rematch until after their March fights. Of course they still have the whole Stevenson situation to deal with.

There isn't a huge demand for the rematch at the moment and Bute didn't make it better with his last fight. Bute-Rodriguez would be a good fight itself and if Bute won that would increase demand for the Froch rematch. Of course, if they both take dangerous fights in the meantime and Stevenson wanting his mandatory shot than the rematch could end up being scrapped altogether. |

In my opinion, Bute, Froch, Kessler, Pavlik, and Abraham would all leave Rodriguez slumped in a corner. Ward wouldn't stop him. He'd just humiliate him so bad he'd give serious thought to retirement. Rodriguez needs to fight Magee or Stieglitz, or give Rosinsky a well deserved rematch.

Well, he probably wasn't going to say "I really, really want to avoid a Froch rematch". However, he might have dodged a bullet with Froch wanting the Kessler rematch so badly.
