Guzman was a better fighter at his best, but I'm not sure how sharp and quick he really is nowadays. Nor am I sure how effective Broner would be north of 135 (I suspect he'd be fine at 140, though).
Guzman has superior movement to Broner and could potentially control the angle, set traps, attempt to counter Broner's counters, and try to get off first a bit with his unorthodox and unpredictable technique and combinations. That could see him through to some serious success if he can keep it up, but at this stage, I don't know if he really can. Broner might wind up timing Guzman with the straighter and more fundamentally correct punches as the fight goes on. And if Guzman's movement slows, Broner's inside work and body punching would pay dividends. Interesting fight. Looking forward to seeing how Guzman looks, but gun to my head, I'd put money on Broner right now. |

lol I liked that one. Broner's record suggests he has more pop than The Sycuan Warrior, and with his speed and skills, that amounts to a lot. I guess that right now, yeah, my love is with Joan, but, lol, gun to the head, definitely Broner. |

Perhaps, we are not acting. Maybe we all know that he is relevant. A boxer so talented, even shadowed by ill-reputation and misconceptions, if given a chance, simply cannot fade into irrelevance. I think most boxing fans, especially those who love to hate him, secretly want to see Joan fight the so-called elite fighters of the world. They will not admit that they starve to witness his final decimation and their reservations may have to do with the fact that their desire drags the possibility of accentuating that which they fear the most: Joan's ultimate redemption. Tonight's fight, my friend, is the first step onto the road to redemption.

Broner stops Guzman in the 6th or 7th round. |

Guzzy is old....slowed and past his expiration date. His experience and size would give him a shot but in my opinion the speed and skills that Broner has right now would be more than enough to win a decision against Joan.
