Jose Aldo open to lightweight move if he defeats Frankie Edgar
Quote:
I know that Aldo has a hard time making 145, and that a move up to lightweight was pretty much inevitable, but it sounds like we may be seeing his debut in 2013. There are countless interesting fights at lightweight for him that I would love to see happen. Does he get an immediate title shot? How do you think he would fare against Bendo or Nate? |

He should... the videos of him trying to make weight are awful! Weight cutting is dangerous and more and more fighters are pushing it even further.
I've noticed in the last year an increase in the number of fighters pulled from fights under doctors orders. Lynchburg |

aldo would destroy most of the lightweights in the ufc now, i think he would have a little trpuble with guy like benson who cuts a good amount to get to 155. but we will see how aldo does against a 155 pound champ.

I'm not sure Aldo blitzes the bigger guys in the same way. But he'd still be quicker, so I don't think he'd suddenly become only a decent fighter up there.
Nate Diaz would batter him IMO. EDIT: If his legs don't get chopped to bits first! Last edited by Flea Man; 11-30-2012 at 05:02 AM. |

I believe so, and hopefully moving to 145 is a intelligence choice he made. A broken bone in the foot and sore knee could really mess with Aldo's game. We won't know until we know, but I've seen Edgar win this matchup over and over again in my mind.
