It wasn't just missing something, it was missing a lot of things. Amongst them is the fluidity you saw with Mike Tyson's precise, terrifying, and yet guarded aggression.

Defense and offense was much better melded with one another from Tyson than Frazier, largely in part due to his fluidity, more movement variation and (in my opinion) greater punch variation than Frazier.
Very well said my man!..Although Joes defense was exhausting, but with a better fluidity and precision fighter like Tyson you are gonna have more punch variation.

If Joe's defense was so tiring he sure wore it well because this was a man who came into every fight ready to go the distance if he had too.

Wait, why is my vote in the DLH KO column when I didn't vote that?

I'd expect Hearns to win a decision. Excluding the Pac fight, De La Hoya was never even that close to being stopped at 147. The least he should do is last the distance.

he never fought a guy as fast as Hearns who would be picking him apart with the jab. I think Hearns would pick him up and down with the jab and land the right somewhere about 7 or 8 and stop him. Or win a UD. Oscar is great, but Hearns was not the style for him. Out of the fab 4 the one guy he could beat come closest to beat is Duran. But Oscar does not have the lateral movement of Ray, but he does have quick hands which could counter Duran with if Duran came close and then he could tie up Duran. The Duran fight at welterweight is a pickem fight and maybe leaning to Roberto. Oscar is not as hard a puncher as Hearns, and does not box and have the handspeed of Leonard or the physical strength of Hagler or the defense of Benitez. He was all around a great fighter and a fast handed guy with a great counter left hook and a decent jab.

I think Oscar would beat Duran and have a very close fight with Benitez, slightly favoring Oscar.
