Default Punching power and buttock size/strength. How important are the glutes?

Earnie Shavers had the biggest glutes ive ever seen in my life and guess what he had the hardest punch ive ever seen in my life/ in boxing history.

Is that a co-incidence? I personally dont think so.

But at the same time if you look at the strongest p4p puncher of all time (Julian Jackson) he had normal sized glutes and its like his whole body was developed but not that much it was like there was no discernible weak points and no discernible strong points either.

You also get horrific punchers that have absolutely no glutes at all, guys like Jerry Cooney.

So in short how important are glutes for punching power?

Glutes are hip extensors- They are a part of a bigger picture of muscles required for punching.

Any time that the femur ends up behind the body, the hip extensors are making that happen. Include the hamstrings if you want to include he other part of hip extensors.

There are tons of factors and variables you can throw in there when talking about what muscles are involved with a specific punch.

I think there should be a limit to how much threads you can make in a single month.

Someone explain Hearns, McClelan, and Julian Jackson. The glutes are not the answer obviously.

Hearns had terrible glutes, Jackson's were pretty nice though... they looked strong and firm

Don't try to link punching power to any physical characteristic.

It dosn't work!

I was going to start a thread examining the correlation between **** size and the ability to defend the right uppercut. Since you people can't examine an issue like serious adults, I will refrain

Well, since you asked, there are two important variants, girth and length, that are directly proportionate to parrying or avoiding the blow, so my research suggests.

The data gathering has been most challenging.
