If you're really sore it's better to go for a light jog or swim rather than do nothing at all. Contrasting cold and hot showers are good as well. Since you're going to boxing today there's not much you can do about it now, you'll probably feel fine anyway after you warm up and get a bit of adrenaline.

In addition to what dealt_with said, you could try some foam rolling or get a massage right after your workout. That thing he said about active recovery works great, but make sure to keep it at low intensities.

You'll probably be sore for the first few weeks, it took me a few weeks until i wasn't sore after every session. Make sure you wrap your hands properly though, as you could do yourself damage hitting bags because your hands and wrists won't be used to the stress and your technique won't be great.
