A world title fight for in the UK is always all over the newspapers and you see loads of adverts on the telly. Sky Sports really know how to promote fights, especially world title ones. All Alexander had to do was grow a pair and both he and Brook could have done very well with this.

This event will barely even be get a mention in the L.A. press.
This exactly, it's daft.

So it'll be another arena where the paper the house and end up relying on the HBO/Showtime fee. Great.

Alexander isn't a draw outside of St Louis, Brook is a nobody on the international scene, and Matthysse can't sell out his own back garden.

Makes sense.

Why would you have something like this in Vegas in the middle of January where nobody would even think of going as they would be broke as fudge, especially after Christmas.

In LA, there's a lot of options for undercard fighters, too, and that's generally a place that despite what time of the year it is, will still draw people as there is boxing over there often. The venue also sounds good. Putting something like this in a stupid size area, such as the LA Sports Arena for example where it would be 4/5 of the way empty and look horrible wouldn't be good. 5K is just fine for this and they'd probably just do short of putting a capacity crowd in there.

Brook should feel happy he doesn't have to go to St Louis. This should be a fair fight. If Brook wins this he'll get big exposure in the States and guaranteed pay days back in the UK defending his title.
