Default Prime corrie sanders vs vitali

In their fight, Sanders lands a left hand that almost ko'd vitali, and had him running across the ring and falling over.

Sadly corrie was in dreadful shape with a beer belly and couldn't follow up.

Who do you think wins if it were prime Sanders?

You mean the one that lost to Nate Tubbs? And i do believe VK slipped to the canvas in the 1st round! VK beat's sanders 9 times out of 10. We feel your pain...

Prime Sanders was a very unstable fighter.Always having the chance of that monster left hand.
VK is one of the most consistent boxers I've ever seen. With all respect for the late southafrican,Vitali beats him any given day.

Didn't think that even "Prime" Sanders really cared to get into shape. Either way, Vitali has the chin to take his punch and would stop him late in the fight.

Vitali did fight prime Corrie!
That performance, by Sanders, was probably the best of his career. Of course the Klitschko haters will have you believe Sanders had gained 10 stone for that fight, and had also taken up chain smoking, and contracted TB, or some other major disease.
Oh and of course Sanders had been playing golf 23 hours a day as well, so he had no time to train!

The best performance of Sanders career was smashing wladamir into a thin, paste like substance

His best performance, but don't mean it was his prime. Wlad took the fight for granted, came in cold, and got beat down. No excuses... Even if he were warmed up and took it more seriously then he still would of probabl got knocked out, but two more guys afterwards knocked him out as well. Proved his chin just wasn't that good.
Didn't Vitali fight him right after the Wlad fight? If so, he would of been coming off his best performance, and in his prime (I guess...). He won like a round against Vitali. Unless he knocked Vitali out cold, which even LL couldn't do while landing BOMBS, then absolutely no way he manages to win a decision ever.

He notoriously didn't ever do roadwork, who knows what he could have done if he was ever in real good shape

Sanders never had a prime as boxer. He was too fond of the beautiful and enjoyable things in life (not a bad characteristic for a person, btw). In Vitali fight he was in terrible physical condition, though and he might've been able to beat Vitali as a younger man with more stamina, there's no doubting that.

I don't recall Vitali being anywhere close to being KO'd in that fight or any fight for that matter. Yeah, yeah....TKO6, blah, blah, blah

Oh, he did hurt VK. I remember thinking deja vu of the Wlad fight for a couple of rounds until Vitali took control and beat him down. The difference between Sanders and say Maskaev was that Oleg put the hard work in which is why he beat Rahman twice and Corrie was beaten by Rahman.

Prime Corrie Sanders is an age 38 year old man who fought in 5 rounds in the past 3 years and was effectively retired until he got a shot at Wlad as a 40-1 underdog.

Yes Klittards, just like he was the greatest south paw that ever lived

[Povetkinfan] "Vitali did fight prime Corrie!"

No. Not even close.

[RazzAxx] "Sanders never had a prime as boxer."

I'd say from about 1993 to 1997. The Ross Puritty fight was the last time that I saw him exhibit any sort of useful stamina; he was dancing around in the 12th round. But even then he'd started packing on the kilos.

The only thing I'd say the 'old' version of Sanders has over the 'prime' version is perhaps a bit more punching power. He definitely pawed less in the twilight of his career and started to sit down on his punches.

As to how a hypothetical prime vs prime matchup vs Vitali would go, I'd say that Sanders would have done better than he did do in 2004. How much better, who knows. The problem is that Vitali really does have an adamantium beard, and the size and reach to bother anybody. On the other hand Sanders was faster with better stamina in his prime, not to mention better foot movement.

Sander's prime was wasted fighting nobodies, he simply could not get the fights that mattered.
