his win over Rosinsky was about 100 times better than what Frochs last world title opponent accomplished at 168.....considering he was a 175 pounder

The promoters and general PAYING boxing public understand. Here there seems to be an incestuous little group that thinks that by reinforcing each others opinion they somehow matter to boxing.

But, but, butt, horses axe. Froch DESERVED an easy touch after his romp in the tourney.

Pavilik lost to a P4P best fighter in Martinez (winning many of the middle rounds) and an all time great in Hopkins and all the sudden he is old and washed up? I don't get that.

Nard was over the hill, and way past his best when he fought Slappy. But now he's a hall of famer with a physical advantage over Pavlik.
Pavlik is a "hasbeen" at 160,and a "never was" at 168.

You cant just ignore the career a guy had 7-8 lbs south of where hes fighting. It happens here all the time and its just stupid.

If you're an undisputed champ at a division and you go up.you're career doesnt just start over!

Marcio Rubio is rated quite highly by many sanctioning bodies and Pavlik hammered him back at 160, does that no longer count?

Fighters can change dramatically from class to class. No one is saying that that Pavlik is unaccomplished overall or at 160; we're saying that he has accomplished nothing at 168. And success at 160 doesn't guarantee success at 168.

Also, to your first point: If Ward goes up to 175 and loses to an over the hill fighter, then looks unimpressive against journeymen, absolutely Cloud beating him would not mean much. That's particularly true when you're talking about a guy in his 30s with an extensive history of addiction problems.

This is a shit fight. You can sell Pavlik vs. Abraham or Bute, but this fight holds little meaning for Ward, who has beaten far healthier and more accomplished (at 168.) opponents than today's Pavlik. It's a joke.

Which is why Rosinsky is ranked 40 and Mack is ranked 14 and Froch destoyed Mack while Pavlik looked shite against the lesser Rosinsky.

The whole struggling to beat bums is a bit in an indication. Guys he would have absolutely smashed in his prime. It's really not that difficult to get.

Will Clouds victory mean nothing?

There are NO fights at 168 that really mean anhthing for Ward. This is as good as any.

Also, by "in his 30s" you mean just turned 30.

Pavlik is still a young guy.

Was Hopkins or was Hokins not campaigning at 2 division above Pavlik at the time?

Is Martinez or is Martinez not a top 5 p4p'er who was given possibly his hardest match ina decade by Pavlik?

This isn't about Pavlik, this is about Ward. Who is Ward supposed to fight?

So , Mack who hasn't fought at 168 since 2007 was ranked 14th? I think you sprained your dick whacking it on the keyboard.

My point is that he's a better fighter p4p and accomplished more. Which is why he's ranked higher on boxrec. He is clearly better than Rosinsky. I don't get the dick whacking reference.

And according to many Pavlik no longer has the same issues with alcohol.
