his win over Rosinsky was about 100 times better than what Frochs last world title opponent accomplished at 168.....considering he was a 175 pounder

The promoters and general PAYING boxing public understand. Here there seems to be an incestuous little group that thinks that by reinforcing each others opinion they somehow matter to boxing.

Pavilik lost to a P4P best fighter in Martinez (winning many of the middle rounds) and an all time great in Hopkins and all the sudden he is old and washed up? I don't get that.

Fighters can change dramatically from class to class. No one is saying that that Pavlik is unaccomplished overall or at 160; we're saying that he has accomplished nothing at 168. And success at 160 doesn't guarantee success at 168. Also, to your first point: If Ward goes up to 175 and loses to an over the hill fighter, then looks unimpressive against journeymen, absolutely Cloud beating him would not mean much. That's particularly true when you're talking about a guy in his 30s with an extensive history of addiction problems. This is a shit fight. You can sell Pavlik vs. Abraham or Bute, but this fight holds little meaning for Ward, who has beaten far healthier and more accomplished (at 168.) opponents than today's Pavlik. It's a joke. |

Will Clouds victory mean nothing? There are NO fights at 168 that really mean anhthing for Ward. This is as good as any. Also, by "in his 30s" you mean just turned 30. Pavlik is still a young guy. |

Is Martinez or is Martinez not a top 5 p4p'er who was given possibly his hardest match ina decade by Pavlik? |
