[quote=bballchump11;14335293 naw I'm not that confident in my pick. When the idea of this matchup first came about I was unsure and it took some discussion and thinking to come up with a winner

Say what? ![]() Cotto was rejuvenated, with a new trainer and at his natural weight when he fought against Floyd! Get out of here, YDKSAB! |

I too think Cotto could outbox him using quicker feet, but at 154 he can not do that for 12 rounds against a workhorse like Alvarez. Canelo really can bang and knows how to put punches together, up and down. The way Canelo sits on his punches and fires with decent technique is brutal. If Cotto doesn't get Canelos respect or hurts Canelo in the early rounds, by the 6th or 7th Cotto will start breaking down. Canelo will out muscle Cotto on the inside getting to Cotto's body before Miguel can get to his. Another factor to consider is their mental state. Two losses in a row for Cotto is not good, especially for his mental state. It's not like Miguel doesn't have a chance, it's just that the odds are very much against him. |

Complete, utter incompetence. This is boxing. Anything can and often does happen.
They should have waited to see how the fight between Cotto an Trout went. |

The lose/lose part about this is once Trout runs into Canelo's left hook & is Knocked out.
People will find reasons to hate on it regardless, it's the way the world. Potentially Alvarez could have a very impressive 2013. |

Cotto has been good for the game the kind of man I would like my sons to look up to as well.
Do we believe Cotto has declined so much at this point that he would get as tired backing up against the youngster as he did chasing Trout? Canelo would sure be a horrible guy to be facing when an older guy realizes he has nothing left in the tank. |

Too bad the fight with Williams didn't happen. He would have at least started facing credible opponents by now. Not his fault, but he needs to get going. |

Not really you know the haters would have been out on full force stating Lara did it first, and he has 2 losses and was passed prime which he was, so that Lara victory is not really that good because Williams was coming off a tko loss that ends careers.
