Yep if he enjoys it then good luck to him, with guys like Rendall Munroe wanting to stay on bins i do feel it effected his development as a profressional as it was a day in day out job in mornings by sounds and left him chasing rest of day for training. But working a saturday for to him bit of pocket money and socializing can't fault Ricky.

I just think it's hilarious how a world champ in Boxing works in JJB in the week. I meant it as in "is that how low the money is in Boxing that a WORLD CHAMP has to work in a sports shop to make ends meet?" you fat yellow-teethed cunt.

Good on the guy I say.
And if he is indeed doing it to 'keep his feet on the ground' then it must be working, because Ricky Burns comes across as just about the most decent and respectful boxer in the game. With all the lazy good for nothing spongers in this country who think that they are owed a 'living', many of them now 2nd or even 3rd generation benefit reliant losers, it seems just crazy to mock a man for having two jobs! ![]() Haters gotta hate.

You are a prick mate,it`s obvious he doesn`t need the money he would get for the job, he just enjoys it for one day a week. It`s like the lottery winners who keep their job because they enjoy it.

It's certainly eccentric but he's not on his own.
Mani from the Stone Roses, during the recording of 'The Second Coming' VOLUNTARTILY worked in the closest Woolworths to the recording studio, even though Geffen had just paid the band a $10,000,000 advance - which in 1993 was quite a bit. People do strange things to keep their feet on the ground even if they no longer need the money ![]() EDIT: Mani enjoyed it so much there, he married one of the check out girls #rockfact DOUBLE EDIT: Maybe that's why he worked there voluntarily! |

He's also a qualified mechanic. JJb is just something to take up his time. Even if it was for money, who are you to come on a forum and laugh at him for it?

There really is a group on here that can only be described as labea. Go out of their way to mock one of our most honourable fighters. Cant even bring myself to feel forced pity

I remember when I worked in a sports shop many moons ago, fist pumping triumphantly when I managed to convince a customer that he needed a nice pair of Nike sports socks to go with his shiny new trainers, the boss loved it when we managed to sell a pair of socks on top of the trainer sale. And we loved keeping the boss happy.
Those were good days man. |
