i was thinking in the summer i'd go up this mountain every week. that they have for people to hike, it's a 3 mile hike uphill where you practically lunge onto steps up in the most painful way possible. I remember seeing the 1/4th sign of the way there and wanting to kill myself because there was no other way out.
that being said im fairly fit, enough to be able to go 4 rounds okay. I was wondering what the input was and if people even do this for cardio. I remember i had doms for a few days. If i trained at least once a week hiking and then running 3 times a week for 3 miles would this be ideal training? Im asuming that eventually i'd adapt to the soreness and would be fine but i woudnt want to be overtraining.

easily? i had to take 6 breaks in which i lay in a pile of sweat with the 20 other people who are dieing from just trying to get through at a slow pace. I do do a mixture of jogging running and sprinting uphill currently because it's starting to pore. but in reality this is probably the hardest thing yet, my legs felt like dropping, i was dead tired and my mind was completely dead. i know this sounds like some random hike but it litterally is like a fleet of large steps in which you have to lunge up. Once your legs are gone, your stamina just drops. |

Marciano used to take long walks and hike every day. In the bareknuckle days it was a staple of training, and Archie Moore used to hike at his ranch/training camp in California. He tried to get Ali to do it, when he briefly trained him, but Ali refused so they parted ways.

The society we live in unfortunately breeds lower back/hamstring problems from the hips. Anterior pelvic tilt resulting in synergistic dominance results in a ton of problems.
On an unrelated note that you'll like, I've booked the biomechanics lab out at uni for tomorrow, going to have a good play around with some equipment
