I remember back in 1976 bringing an 8 mm film of some of Joe Louis's fight to high school. I was the only one into boxing and I brought 6 or 7 of my friend's to the school library to watch the film during lunch. The film showed highlights of Louis against M Baer, Buddy Baer, Simon and Walcott 2. All I remember hearing were the ohhs and ahhs from my friend's as Louis landed his machine gun like combinations. All became instantly Louis fans and a few to his day are hooked on boxing because of what they saw that day.

Awesome fight, remains my favorite to this day (Nelson vs Gomez is another personal favorite)...I have heard a few on here like the 2nd Arguello/Escalera fight better, but I have always been partial to the first.

Arguello has been in some wars, hasn't he? Ganigan, Mancini, Pryor I, Escalera I & II, etc.

Gatti-Ward. I would show this to them because it is a modern classic and then gradually work the classic gems in. I wouldn't start them on black and white footage.

I just recently watched Nelson vs Gomez for the first time. phenomenal fight!
