Obviously I'm happy about this.
How do you here feel about this? (Don't forget the word FAME in hof) Oh and here's a link to a older thread I posted when we found he was on the ballot, kinda interesting in hindsight. He's in because of his untimely death.
That's a fact. It's a weak class this year, but I'm glad to see both Mills Lane and Colin Hart inducted. |

I think having Gatti inducted cheapens the HOF. In every sport, the HOF(in regards to participants) is reserved for athletes who were the best of the best. Theres' been countless times where I've seen people hype up a guys resume based on how many HOFers he's beat. Well how do we know how many of these HOFers were top notch fighters, and how many were glorified club fighters that were really popular?
Imagine if Tim Tebow was one day inducted into the NFL HOF based on his popularity rather than his play. It was bad enough when Rocky Balboa was inducted, inducting Gatti removes pretty much all credibility the IBHOF had left. |

As for Gatti, it's very similar to Diego Corrales. |

![]() Gatti has his own legit argument, based on being a multiple weight world champion, and having his own cult following but in all honesty, he was never great, just great to watch. |

Shouldn't be in.
Boxing Hall of Fame really needs to up their criteria. Too late now. If you let Gatti in, there are literally hundreds of other fighters you should let in as well. Just IMO. Never felt Gatti was HoF material. But I guess they let just about anybody in now. |

Gatti was/is my favorite fighter. He transcended the sport in many ways and I am happy he made it in.
I completely understand the point of view that his in ring accomplishments don't measure up, though. |

The difference is Tebow ain't done shit in his career, and Gatti brought us much excitement, including the Ward trilogy.

But the IBHOF has a non-participant branch, which is intended for guys like Stallone. Are you saying the entire idea of including non-participants is a slap in the face to those who have still not gotten the call?
