Chavez,McCullough ,Ayala ,Chi ,Jones Espades for Morales ? Diaz ,Katsisdas ,Casamayor?Gainer ? Jesus Chavez most likly And for Barrera : Morales ,McKinny ,Hamed ? Em and Barrera have much stronger resumes ..Before Manny there wasn't much on his resume to really keep him up there with those 2 .Now with the win over Manny it moves him up right behind him ..But this really needs to be asked a few yrs from now ..Right now JMM is the greatest Mexican boxer ever as well as greatest to ever consider the sport in boxing Mexico right now more dust needs to settle. |

I'm just glad that Marquez is now in the conversation with his peers. Five years ago he wasn't and it didn't seem like the door was open for him to ever be.

It's this win that really puts him up there with the other two, before last saturday his legacy was built almost entirely off his draw and losses to Pacquiao but now he finally has that golden career moment that lifts his standing to a level that his skills have deserved for so long.

Ranking these guys is no easy task I mean I have seen people argue that Morales deserved 2 over MAB some say MAB won the series rightfully Some have had MAB over JMM in that fight Morales and JMM beat Pac and MAB didnt but thats not criteria all by itself though significant JMM sticks out now due to last weekend and the fact that MAB has been gone awhile ago and that Morales just got KO'd bad but its been a long time ago but Barrera beat Hamed and that was huge at the time Morales and MAB were at their best when i was young and just starting to really understand the sport, JMM i have a biased toward since i have seen more of him tough call i have no answer |

I am gonna tell it like it is and then close this thread...
JMM probably will go down as #2 out of Mexico. One of the best technicians ever. Has way too many wins against great/good consistent competition. This Pacman win and at least one other puts him on top. MAB is a solid fighter and had a good wins and is top 10 out of Mexico. He lost to Junior Jones in his prime when EM fk'd Poison up. EM is the baddest dude on the planet. Excellent boxer and brawls when there is no need to. Balls to the wall style even when he was way past his prime. My favorite fighter out of Mexico and is probably top 5. |

Poll speaks by itself, before Pac-Marquez 4 i already had JMM ahead of MAB and just a bit over Morales, the stuff his accomplished at the late stage of his carrer is impresive, his dedication for the sport, older than MAB and EM, and hes been at top level for a very long time, i believe last weekends win gives him a clear edge over MAB and EM.

Now he is well ahead and resides in a different stratosphere, EM and MAB are still great though. |
