Default How come Tyson was not disqualified after bitting Holyfield?

It seemed to have been a very strange decision by the referee not to. Also, was his mouth piece knocked off by Holyfield?

The first time? Ref had never seen it before and didn't see it happen. Second time there was blood. And no he walked out of his corner without his mouthpiece, he said it in his documentary. He intended to do it.

It was the biggest fight in history at that point. Mills Lane didn't want to be the guy to stop it on some DQ. He gave Tyson every chance to get it together. After the second bite there was no choice.

I saw the fight like most here, but don't remember the announcer mentioned the first bit. I'll check it out again.
