To me it seemed Bowe was already on his way out. I'd give Golota so much more credit if not for the dirty fighting. But yea I agree he was a wasted talent. I liked those short, compact punches he'd throw in combination. Not many HWs today can throw any today.

I give Golota the nod because of his intense body punches. I can't remember a body-puncher that threw them as good as Golota. If he could've only kept them a little higher. Body punchers at HW are rare.

Left shoulder. His jab was still formitable but not as good as it was, his left hook is what suffered the most. It used to be awesome but post 2000 he couldn't turn the punch over and was basically just swinging his arm. |

Golota had no ****ing balls. Quit twice after taking jabs and no knockdown. Bums his days (and I aint exaggerating about the bum part) sitting in some Polish Cafe on Chicago's West side |

He did once have a damn good left hook, and agreed that it was more like a swinging arm punch afterwards. But I cannot agree with you when you say he still had a formidable jab. He did not. It no longer had the same snap it once did, and his jab was his primary weapon.

He was good and it was a shame he didnt get his act together til he was older vs Byrd and Ruiz even vs Brewster where he got crunched he got up from all knockdowns and looked determined to go on
earlier he quit or fount ways out he certainly isnt the best to not win, some of the names of those guys have already been listed Havent seen Quarry's name get tossed out there, how bout Jimmy Young for coming damn close vs Ali Obviously there are probably 3-5 good names per decade who have a claim to this |

I understand Mercer won a WBO belt but he was like in the early days when that wasnt taken as seriously as it is now, do you consider him to have never won a title??
