I think Helenius is through.................he needs to improve a lot or retire.............

Why should he retire? He is a top-30 heavyweight and with sauerland behind his back he can make some easy money fighting ex-champions and journeymen. Only 28 years old!

He was nr.1 one before his injury-layoff, and on his comeback beat Williams who was ranked around 10-12 by WBO.

That and maybe a little Sauerland influence

Word on the street: One more tune-up fight in february and then Wladimir in the summer. Helenius is the WBO mandatory. I think this is a good plan. Helenius aint gonna get any better and now is the time to cash out.

Can't disagree with that. Could be a nasty KO if it happens though. RH's cheen will be tested, that's for sure. We'll see if it's as good as Wach's.

Ulli Wegner apparently stated German press that Helenius needs only one fight before the showdown against the Ukrainian..
I am not sure what to think about this.. To make so noise or are they realla gonna cash out Helenius?

I'd rather see him fight Wlad, even if he got his ass whooped, than beating some 40+ y/o ex-champs. Provided he'll do a decent job against whoeverbumitmightbebeforethat, of course.

However, based on his last performance talking about fighting Wlad goes to "Are you serious? You gotta be kidding?" cathegory. With previous performance of Helenius Wlad would beat him with his pants down and other hand tied behind his back, doesn't matter which one. But if in his next match he's back to him old self I think he could make it a pretty good fight.

Helenius is being overshadowed by Price/Pulev etc at the minute! I think he is being down-played because of his poor showing against Chisora. Helenius has power to match David Price IMO! Let's not forget that!

People forget there was a legit excuse for that poor showing! And i still think he beat's Fury if he comes in fully fit! Let's not forget Chisora was 25 lbs heavier for the Fury fight than he was for VK and Helenius!

Also note VK and Helenius fought injured! Fully fit VK beat's Chisora with ease and Helenius beat's him more convincingly!

Helenius should fight Takam or Pianeta next, it's the perfect next step for him and it might do decent numbers in Europe.

After that it's title shot or mandatory eliminator against Boytsov.

Good post and agree totally. People are too quick to write Helenius off.

He is still one of my top 5 to watch this year...
