I remember talking about the heavyweight division a while ago, and I said that neither Klitschko has faced a guy who throws good combinations, can body punch and things like that. It's rare to see it these days because most of the big heavyweights just time a single power punch to the head, over and over again. Even Wlad does that. Ruiz may be out of shape but fuck it, he is bringing something different to the table. In a division full of stiff, predictable punchers, he is bringing speed, combinations and workrate. That's a good thing. |

On another note, the first Mexican heavyweight champion will be a massive star in boxing, I think. If Ruiz or Arreola can win a world title, they'd become PPV attractions and earn millions and millions. That must be a pretty good incentive for a guy like Ruiz.

Andy has never been knocked down in sparring or in any of his more than 100 amateur matches or 17 pro fights. He doesn't know what it's like to be knocked down. Or hurt.

Is he really 6'2"? Maybe he hunches over a bit, but he looks more like 6'0" to me. I'll be keeping an eye out on him for future fights. |

I wasn't talking about his chin when I posted that video... only his head-movement. However, I prefer that he doesn't take a lot of punches so he doesn't have to show how good of a chin he has. I like my boxers to have good defense. And he does hunch a little. In boxing we're taught that shorter guys should fight short and taller guys should fight tall.
