It'll be yet another "redemptive" moment for Marquez, as he'll probably decisively beat one of the few men holding a legitimate (close, but legitimate) victory over him.

Some will see it as "avenging another robbery", but that's dumb.
I've always chimed in when it comes up. A draw may have been fair representation, but I've watched it a few times and have def scored it to John before, and I think if you scored it for either of them by more than a point it would likely have been John which you did that for (consistently judging the same things across all the rounds).

I scored it for jmm. Infact the only time I consistently score against jmm is the Floyd fight.

Marquez fans have far more to bitch about in Pacquiao I-III than in the L to John.

so bullshit point deductions are ¨legitimate¨ now?

Juan was victim of homecooking

just like anyone who's ever posed a real threat to the indonesian Sven Ottke

John is fraud, paper champ and a disgrace to boxing

I hope you mean consistently, as in "thoroughly and completely"?

Marquez would have edged the fight without the two BULLSHIT point deductions for low blows that he got from John's referee

that's not trolling, that's a fact

Chris John UD12.

Marquez won't be able to deal with that slickness and power from John, plus dropping the weight would hurt him.

I think Marquez being hurt from dropping the bulk and John having to punch 11 pounds north of his career max (and mean, and median...dude's been very consistent with his weight for 14 years and is definitely as "comfortable" as one can be in a division at feather...meaning he might not be comfortable at all elsewhere) will cancel each other out. Then it's just down to what each man has going on right now, a true p4p match-up in the sense of "what would happen if you could make them the same size". In that regard, I still hold John in high esteem as a h2h fighter but he is slipping and Marquez is - while far from his best - rejuvenated enough to take this one. He's not the same animal he was last time they met. Far more aggressive now, and with a whole bag of tricks up his sleeve from taking on top-notch opposition. (which John has only seen in doses)

I think a more aggressive JMM against John would lead to hurting his chances more than helping.

Plus if John comes up the right way, with a help from something like a angel, the benefit will be in his corner in the physical battle IMHO.

Just so you know my friend, that Duran was Marquez' first fight.

JMM lost by DQ.

And all of you are wrong. Marquez' greatest opponent was a tree. That tree nearly prevented him from turning pro.

Imagine the last headline ever for his career: "Marquez chops tree down and gains redemption"

What did six year old Victor Ortiz do to prevent Marquez from turning pro?

If John wants it the fight should be at 140 or higher. If he can't make the weight, simply look elsewhere. I'm well aware that John has a win over JMM. But beating the likes of Barrera and Pac has given JMM a place in the ATG rankings whereas John is much lower. I think JMM still beats him at 135 but it's John who has to make all the concessions. Not a bad fight but I think JMM should fight either Garcia or Khan (assuming he improves).
