The September date is because with a 120 day suspension I assume he can't sign to fight for at least 120 days, meaning march-april time, then mix in a training camp and promotion boom, late summer.

Its because of the knock out. Paul Williams took an entire year to recover. Jermain Taylor never recovered. Andre Dirrell is still recovering.

He milked him to #1 P4P status, greatest fighter of this generation, eight division world champion and an all-time great recognized globally by anyone that knows anything about boxing. Damn, that's some "milking" now, isn't it? Bullshit aside, give Pacquiao credit for winning the endless list of fights people picked against him and made this possible through training and dedication. Arum's job is to promote and find worthy opponents the public would approve of.

Again the newbies following the sport. When a fighter is knocked out cold in brutal fashion he is pretty much FORCED, as the rules states, to take AT LEAST 6 months off the sport and 3 months off training/gym schedules. This is nothing new.

Unfortunately, without a federal commission, Pac is only technically suspended in Nevada. Arum could, conceivably and legally, request another commission to clear him to fight; take Texas for example. Or, he could fight outside of the US.
Most commissions will uphold the decisions of the other states, but don't have to. |
