Sorry to spoil your little story but >>>

The 42 year old James Toney weighed in 20 pounds heavier than he'd ever fought at in his 22 year career, and as you'll see in the video, had his gut hanging down almost to his knees.

The only reason Reed managed to go the distance was because the obesely out of condition Toney could barely move and Reed stayed well away from him.

In any case Reed didn't win a single round on any of the judges scorecards, and achieved only survival against a fat opponent who couldn't move well enough to catch him.

Thanks for posting the clip to help emphasize my points

u have just made yourself look like a complete idiot by this comment.

losing every round to a granpa blimp is not a something to brag about imo.

this is where team mdm is going wrong. they keep trying to justify these pathetic matchups and r believing their own bullshit now.

the time for excuses is well and trully over.

Couldn't agree more

de Mori's matchmaker tried to justify the completely shot and 42 year old Rob Calloway on the basis he went the distance with Chauncy Welliver. Truth is Welliver doesn't knock people out - 30% KO ratio. Calloway didn't win a single round off him, and Welliver demonstrated not long after that he's gone.

Not hard to see why the matchmaker has stopped posting.

Everyone so uptight and serious all the time.

Go get some fresh air and smell some flowers.

Fact is someone was needed on short notice, if people are wanting to fight people on short notice or otherwise they let the respective teams know (As Mark has done with all the names mentioned previously).

Talk is talk, saying yes, I'm right to go in 10 days is another thing.

That leaves us with Reed. Not a world beater, but over 50 pro fights and fought some known names. No one is pushing him through the ropes. He has seen Mark up close, knows what Mark can do and obviously thinks he can give him a run.

Life's short, smile, laugh and stop taking yourselves so seriously. Treat everyone like they are you in another body.

Peace, love and unity.

Reed is 41 years old and retired because he'd run his race and knew it. As did anyone else who saw his later fights.

It was poor form when team de Mori tried to coax Reed out of retirement 13 months ago. Now, a year later, it's just plain disgraceful

This fight deserves nothing better than to be the same kind of financial disaster as St Marys.

Not sure if you noticed but this is not a Disney production, boxing is serious stuff where people can and have suffered irreparable damage. Mark shouldn't be taking these fights. His management need to sort themselves out and get Mark the fights he really needs. Mark has been reprimanded once already for staging nothing more than sparring session as legitimate pro fight. It would be difficult to see Mark do nothing more than win this fight once again on body shots as a deliberate strategy to limit the damage metered out and give the opponent ample time to take a knee. Not good for the sport mate. As you have already pointed out Mark can only fight was is put in front of him so the question and consequences lay with his management.

If I had a dollar for every time his total lack of boxing knowledge I'd be doing pretty good.

I appreciate the intelligent post. Thankyou.

I understand it's not a Disney production and the seriousness of it all, was trying to make light of the keyboard warriors getting their knickers in a knot over and over again.

If Mark can stay positive after having to deal with let downs time and time again in what is his chosen profession that he's dedicated his life to, who is anyone else to complain.

Should he take these fights? In my opinion of course. When the option is that or nothing why not. After his zero fights in 2 years I think he has learnt that lesson.

I am still yet to think of or be given a name of someone who is:

1) Willing on 10 days notice
2) Be approved by DK
3) Be proven on an international stage
4) And has made it officially known to Team MDM to let them know they are interested in being an opponent
