Why are you guys even arguing about why Ward didnt fight Bute??

Who cares?

Butes destruction by Froch has made the guy irrelevant!

People say Pavlik is a bad fight for Ward to be taking but the fact is, hes never been beat down like Bute against Froch!

Is he saying that DM would get 5M from the HBO and he himself would get 7M?

Wauw. Thats new. I frankly dont believe it. Jones must have a memory lapse. Jones normally got considerably less than 3M from HBO and now they offer 13M for both? I wont believe it untill there's a credible source confirming. Do you believe it? Honest!

We have a list of the people involved that tried to make the fight.

Why?

Roy's advisors along with HBO wanted a double header to promote a future fight. How is that not a commitment?
Because taking an undercard fight for peanuts without a guaranteed Jones shot would be stupid on DM's part and by definition non-commital on Jones' behalf.

Quote:

Where's the 200K come from?

The double header would have led to a 6M fight.
Stop saying that or show a legitimate source saying Jones would commit to he deal.

Quote:
He gave that up, to continue fighting for 1M purses.

He turned down Roy and the chance to win his hold belts back to fight Richard Hall twice.
And Jones continued fighting janitors and streetsweepers.

Quote:

You're getting that desperate you're now trying to invent problems that were never there. Roy wasn't interested in Mike til 2003.

You think in 2001, if they'd have a staged the double header, Roy would suddenly have turned around and said, I don't want DM now, I want Mike Tyson at Heavy instead? Ok!
Jones would say and do whatever he pleased. Everybody knew that. I wouldn't believe anything untill I had a signed contract.

There isn't another side to the story.
So Jones' story is the whole truth?

Dude. Ward clearly said that he didn't feel Bute was qualified and dismissed him. After that Bute signed for Froch. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Now please stop polluting this Jones thread. Make a new thread if the issue is so damn interesting.

As you said , Bute can say what he wants, doesn't mean its true. What is true is he took what he thought to be the easy fight that would take up two years. He was a hypejob. His team knew it, everybody now knows it.

"I was disappointed," Ward said. "Bute and his promoter were screaming and yelling that I was ducking them, then they go and make a two-fight deal with Froch where if he loses, he takes Froch back to Canada? I didn't understand that. I was never ducking him, I just wanted to build up the fight. I was coming off two years of grueling fights and I felt he needed to fight someone. But ducking him? Come on. He wants belts, I have three belts over here if he wants to fight for a belt.

yOU'RE the same idiot who tries to covince people he lost to Boone. You'rer a hater and in full hate mode here.

You've been provided sources from different parties which all allude to what I've been saying all along. You and only you denies it

As have you,. You're argument is based on hate for Ward the the desperation to belittle him at any given opportunity . Im being objective, you're not and thats why you fail.
For Ward to have ducked Bute , he would of had to of fought somebody else at the time. He didn't , and for the very last time, HE WAS OUT FOR A YEAR.
You're done you ****ing BLANK.

I find it hilarious you used the word objective, do you know what it means dino?

Ward ducked Bute, plain and simple.

How can he have been out for a year? A year = 12 months

Ward Fought Froch in December -> fought Dawson in September

Was seen in training as early as May, probably sooner, the hand was no problem

Bute's team wanted the fight, Ward's team avoided them

That's irrefutable

Seriously, why does anyone even care about who did or didnt fight Bute?

Why is he relevant.

Pavlik, who everyone is deriding Ward for fighting, at least never got beaten up and destroyed in 5 rounds!

Whether you like it or not, the fight fans wanted 12 months ago was Ward-Bute, and Ward's team wanted none of it. You can spin that how you like, but you can't rewrite history

I dont remmeber any great push for that fight. Ward said Bute had to fight someone good to fight him.

He did.

He got beat like a ***** who owed her pimp money by Froch.

Thereby proving Ward right

And many happy returns buddy

I think he was a guy who when you first taught him a move, the second time he did it like you did and third the better than you.So i think the ground work would be easier for him to learn. And that guy was so ridiculously fast as well. But who knows....
About the current HW of UFC,no i think he would get pummeled. But thats just my opinion.
I dont know if you watched K-1 ever but there is a guy who fights in HW division,Kaoklai Kaennorsing who weighs 75-78 kg,he has ***** of steel to fight guys who outwegh him by 20-30 kg.Check him out if you have the time.

Todays mma fighters go and learn boxing from Joel Diaz,Jeff Mayweather,Floyd Mayweather,Freddie Roach and few others,so skill wise they are better than b4.
Ofc it will never be on boxers levels considering their hands, movement, rythm etc.

I am BIG boxing fan,but i love to watch a good mma fight(Junior dos Santos,Cain Velasquez,Anderson Silva,Nick Diaz etc).
Those guys train pretty hard and i have a friend who has over 30 pro MMA fights,i used to spar with him all the time.So i respect them a lot.
Thanks for the great reply mate, I enjoyed reading that. I respect your opinion on Bruce, and many people share your opinion. Like I say, I haven't watched The UFC for a while, but I'm going to give it another go. I've never heard of Kaoklai Kaennorsing. He sounds fascinating. I'll have a look on youtube and read up on him, then I'll get back to you.

Thanks Pecho!

Ahh yes, ignorance is bliss. Continue to ignore every source that tells you otherwise, as long as it makes you happy

Ward wasn't out, Bute signed to fight Froch because Ward wanted nothing to do with Bute - Those are the facts, plain and simple

I'm not a hater, I haven't pointed out anything that isn't true. You've been unable to disprove anything I've said
