I hated the idea of the fourth fight:
Sure, it's great NOW, because most of us got the result we had hoped for. Redemption for the other robberies. BUT IMAGINE IF PAC HAD WON? - Our collective heads would have exploded. The Pactards would be running amok, saying, "see, Pac really DID win II and II..." etc etc It would have been horrible. - And that's exactly why there should never be a Pac-JMM 5. The issue has been closed for good. Let it rest. |

Anything coming out of Dana's mouth regarding matchmaking needs to be taken with more than a grain of salt. I mean, here's a guy who is giving Chael Sonnen a shot at Jon Jones......Sonnen is 6-5 in the UFC, coming off a convincing loss, hasn't fought at light heavy in years, and he is deserving??!! I guess his idea of matchmaking is more similar to the WWE. A mouthpeice who's popular with fans for either love or hate of him gets a straight path to a title shot by talking shit, and being mediocre in the octagon. I like UFC, but Dana says nothing without an agenda behind it and sounds like a douche half the time.

perhaps it wasnt the smartest move businesswise, but boxing isnt just business.
Pac felt he hadnt beat marquez convincingly, so he wanted to challenge himself and thats exactly what the best fighters should do. This wasnt a quesion about money, but a question of pride. we got 4 aweosme fights from these 2 warriors and people are debating business and money. That is pure nonsense. Instead of talking about bad busniess, we should praise them for taking a challenge and giving us one hell of a treat 4 times. This is coming from someone who cant stand arum. |

He said that he is an idiot for making the Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez fight. He said that he should of had him fight Bradley becuase Pacquiao would have easily won. He said that Arum is the dumbest promoter in the world.

The reason Pacquiao had done well past lightweight speaks more of the poor level of competition at 147 lbs. The only fighter there the last several years of elite caliber has been Mayweather himself, the rest of the top 10 have been slow, shot, or unskilled. None near elite. Marquez climbing two weight classes to fight Mayweather is equivalent to Mayweather at this stage in his career going up a couple of weight classes and fighting a much younger and prime Andre Ward at a catchweight between middleweight and Supermiddleweight. This fight can be signed at a catchweight of 163 lbs, then Ward can announce the day before the fight he cant make the catchweight and can come in at 167 lbs! ![]() Its all about skill according to Mayweather fans anyways, so Mayweather should not have too much problems with Andre ward no matter what the weight would be. |
