What are your views on boxing?

I am personally a huge fan. I always figured everyone else here was too. There is constantly people coming on here and accusing this forum of not understanding boxing and telling us that MMA is an inferior sport.

The weird part is though, this is a boxing website, we have all come here because we were checking boxing news on the main page.

Anyone have anything against boxing?

i like both

warched a lot of boxing from 2000 to 2005
really liked the klitchs, rjj, b-hop, trinidad, etc.. from that era
lost the passion for it a couple of years ago not because it was worse or anything
i just find mma more entertaining, i like martial arts, so when i see fighters doing crazy kicks etc...
you just dont get that in boxing

& frankly the only arguments anti-mma boxing fans have is that mma is some kind of gay grindfest with only ground work

i like both & think its stoopid to hate one if you like one

I agree. The problem with boxing is the way it is promoted, I will hear about a fight that interests me set to go down in say 2 months, then that is all I hear about it until the day after it actually happens.

I don't know if it is promoted differently in the states or UK where a lot of people on this site tend to reside, but as a Canadian I don't see a lot of promotions selling their fights.

UFC on the other hand, I bet you if I skim through my channel guide there will be something about it on TV somewhere.

Pretty much everyone on this forum should be a boxing geek. That's why it's weird that the other forums are always trying to shit talk those of us in the MMA subforum because we love the sweet science as much as they do. Learning the difference between an Americana and a wristwatch did not hamper my enjoyment of pugilism in the slightest.

I feel it has been ruined a little by the many weight classes and governing bodies though

Where I live a lot more kids are getting into martial arts than boxing now though. It's a shame because I love a good chat about boxing and most kids DNSAB!!!

I used to go on Sherdog, but for every one person that posts anything sensible there is 200 being ridiculous. I go here because I find people are intelligent and this forum is sometimes a good source for news.

the boxing forum is like a bunch of 12 year old kids playing Call Of Duty, the articles on the main page tend to be very biased as well.

There are people who post regularly in the Lounge section of this Boxing forum who never ever discuss a single aspect of boxing, and are probably not the least bit interested in it.
