This thread is begining to seperate the men from the boys who are massively overestimating Klitschko and underrating former greats.
Wlad has never fought anybody remotley near the greatness of Louis in his entire life. What evidence is out there to suggest he handles an ATG ring master, who had teffific movement combined with precision counter punching. Wlad's whole head and body is there to be chopped apart in close range by anybody who possesses the right tools. Peter was able to knock Wlad down ,who walked in straight lines and threw wild uncoordinated hooks. If Wlad or anybody thinks he could nail him with the right hand, by the time he has it cocked, Louis with a little flick will be somewhere else, pouncing on him with an attack he never saw coming.(Louis dealt with big right hand monster punchers with Max Bear) Once Wlad is stunned or knocked down there is little recourse for him as no human body can withstand punishment from Louis. With that being said, i still give Rock a better chance of taking him down. There is nothing out there to prove he can hold up against relentless pressure from one of the hardest puncher's to ever live who harboured an unstoppable chin with enormous heat and courage. There is footage to prove how he doesn't handle pressure , as seen in the 2d round against Sanders. As soon as the bell rang and Sanders bullrushed him, Wlad did not know where he was. For a supposed "ATG" he showed no ability to trade back, move out of range or even cover up. Rock was a swarmer and brawler and there isn't much hope for Wlad without those 3 defenisive mechanics to compete against him. Merry Christmas. |

For the record I think a Joe Louis at 210 pounds would defeat wlad.
He'd be a rightful underdog but he has proven he can jab his way inside patiently stalking a bigger man. Wlads jab is superior but Louis has quicker hands, better footwork and better timing. More importantly he never let a fighter off the hook. I believe Louis only needs one chance to let his hands go as wlad clinches and I think late in when wlad is tiring Louis will score a come from behind knockout. I think Louis hits harder , quicker and more accurately than rocky and is big enough to compete with shw fighters. |

You have now made a comment that we can all agree with no matter what side of the issue you are on....
I lean towards Marciano in this fight, although I believe an argument can be made one way or the other....Your logic....and I use that term loosely, adds nothing to this discussion so far! |

Hey chump, I point out the mere facts and the mere facts are Rocky has never lost whilst Wlad - who is a coward - has lost to bums. Rocky would smash Wlad literally out of the ring just like he did to Louis. It would get ugly. |

I know you're being sarcastic
It's not that bad of a thread, however some of the recent posters touting RM over Wlad are beyond delusional ![]() I admired RM for what he accomplished as a somewhat undersized HW even in his era. However I'm not going to dismiss common sense and the basic laws of physics to favor Marciano over current (and recent) caliber of HWs. In this era I don't think RM would be a fringe contender at HW. CW, yes... HW NO, NO, and NO! |
