Benn vs Mclellan was like Hagler vs Hearns, only longer. Brutal back & forth action. At one point, I didn't think Benn was gonna' get up, yet he not only got up, but immediately started landing uppercuts.
Incredible. I've only seen a few other Benn fights, but they were all entertaining. The guy always seemed to really want it. Probably one of the best fighters in any division, ever. It kills me that Hagler didn't hang on a few more years. It would have been conceivable for he and Benn to have fought, and that would really have been something. the way they fought was similar to Hagler and Hearns. They just collided, and Benn was too quick for Barkley. Nigel's career is underrated. Nigel was such a hard puncher, then he improved later on and became more than just a puncher.

Iran Barkley easily had the tools to ko Nigel Benn. His problem of course was so evident watching that fight. He fought with his hands down and chin out.Got knocked out and whinged about it afterwards. He didn`t prepare himself properly, didn`t respect Benns power and paid for it.

like hopkins, it's only after both these great fighter were in their forties and past their best that blinkered posters like yourself try to score points against them on britain's behalf i don't mind if you don't like either jones or hopkins so long as you can debate your point well, but you only do it because you're british and butthurt get over it, it's petty and pointless |

"oooh but he wasn't ko'd in his prime" Yeah because he didn't step up to Glen Johnson level until his miraculous chin vanishing from a crash diet. Nowadays he sells his ass, and braincells for crack money, to the highest bidder. But it's alrigh, when he's braindamaged you can say "he wasn't a drooling vegetable in his prime though, USA! USA! USA!" Now, kindly **** off |
