She's up for hanging on until 2014, too.

It's a joke how these things are just handed out to anyone nowadays.

I do not get that, as a MBE tends to be a 'minimum' award for winning Olympic Gold...

She annoys me a little bit to be honest, nothing major.

Well done to her though, hard work and dedication.

Well done to her. Fantastic achievement. I hope she wins another gold in Rio in 2016 too.

I am personally very against women's boxing. **** the feminists and "equal rights" crowd. There are just some sports that are meant for women and some meant for men. Professional boxing falls into that category under the latter. Those my honest feelings on the matter and I'm not changing it. Doesn't matter how much the mainstream media tries to tell people that women's boxing is fine and normal, fact is it isn't and old school people like me will never agree with it.

Women in amateur boxing I've come to accept, there's less brutality involved and it's more about skill. But women in the violence of professional boxing? No thanks.

Sometimes the "all sports should be for everyone" people go too far and women boxing is a classic example. They should accept that the majority of true boxing fans don't like it and won't approve of it.

If a bloke started playing netball or doing equestrian then everyone would consider it to be abnormal and something he shouldn't be doing. It should be the same with women being boxers in my opinion.

Quite simply, humans are not supposed to punch shit out of each other. The only ones who do are the biggest, toughest, strongest ones who can take it. Women are not naturally tough or strong physically. Therefore, they shouldn't compete in a sport which requires this.

Did he win it fair and square or lose by miles and get the victory regardless?

I'm not so sure we should look at it from a feminist/equal rights perspective. Rather an individual asserting their right to compete in whatever sport they chose and bollocks to anyone who says they can't just because it offends their sensibilities. I don't like the idea of women in pro boxing so I just choose not to watch it. I don't have the right to say they shouldn't be allowed and they'd be quite right to tell me to do one!

She's got a bit of a profile locally, apparently there's been more and more girls going to boxing gyms, even saw one whacking the bags like JMM at my gym whilst I was there.

From my point of view, living in Leeds, it's good to see someone other than the rugby lads getting a bit of the glory.
