Might have happened around this time if Khan hadn't been KTFO, but Mayweather likely wont be around by the time Khan manages to rebuild his name.

I think it will happen as long as Khan can get a couple of wins with one decent name in amongst them, that's the hard part.
To be honest I think it's the only reason GBP have stuck by him to sell him off in a Mayweather fight. |

Mayweather fancies his chances of selling 1m+ PPVs here and making a killing, Khan would be his vehicle toward doing so.
But Khan wouldn't sell anything like that kind of number, he's not got the name value or career standing that Hatton had.... and nor is Floyd the mega star that he was, given how infrequently he's been in the ring since 2007. |

Even if Khan somehow does fight his way back into contention, do you think for one moment that Mayweather is going to waste his time fighting him? Fighting Khan brings Floyd nothing. It wouldn't generate anywhere near as much money as fighting Canelo or Martinez would.
Mayweather only takes the most lucrative fights which will make him the most money, he's not bothered about winning belts anymore. He openly admits it. Khan doesn't bring anything to the table apart from a noise. |
