It took Terry Spinks over 50 years to get his.

yeh she pisses me off a bit too, did great at the Olympics and I was cheering for her all the way but I remember one of the interviewers saying to her "we saw you do an Ali shuffle in the final" and she responded saying "think I'll rename that the Nikki shuffle".

Errr no love, let's not get carried away now eh.

Its a shame how the only people who get these mbe's etc are either well rich people who buy they're way in, or people who have a load of publicity. Rarely is it the people who work solidly but quietly in the background who get these things. As with a lot of shit in life it seems the louder you shout how great you are [or the louder you're paid publicist shouts how great u are], if you do it enough people might actually start believing you. If I was king I'd knight all the true pioneers of UK culture like Goldie and El-B.

Anyway good for her, this can only help boxing in the long run, more people getting into the sport etc.

Not keen on these awards really, but if anyone deserves one she does. She beat some good opposition to win gold and conducted herself with class before during and since.Agree she should stay amateur. Not Joshua, though, cant fail as a pro for me.Boxers dont usually win superstars.A good omen??

And disgracefully so. He was in the wrong class and wrong sport at the time. The fact that a black woman boxer can (rightfully) win such an award, shows how far this Country has come.

Her accent annoys me, also her happy go lucky attitude.

I don't dislike her, i just find how she has come across in most interviews and appearances annoying.

"I am just being honest, better than lying".

She has done well for herself.

I had abit of a soft spot for Katie Taylor though, which was very strange, there was just something about her. She has that classic Robin Hood prince of thieves, Shakespeare, classic 1500's look about her.

"She looks like a woman who could be around in them days"

People's features change over time, and i think women throughout the ages have changed.

She does look abit butch because of her boxing training, but that's life. And probably all the supplements she is forced to take has further more enhance her masculine strengths.

But underneath all of that, i can see a natural woman.

Not the type of glamour model, who we all enjoy checking out.

Just a natural handsome woman.

Good luck to Nicola

But MBE's were severely devalued when the English cricket team got one each a few years back. Even the also-rans and non-contributors got one. Thrown around like confetti.

I am personally very against women's boxing. **** the feminists and "equal rights" crowd. There are just some sports that are meant for women and some meant for men. Professional boxing falls into that category under the latter. Those my honest feelings on the matter and I'm not changing it. Doesn't matter how much the mainstream media tries to tell people that women's boxing is fine and normal, fact is it isn't and old school people like me will never agree with it.

Women in amateur boxing I've come to accept, there's less brutality involved and it's more about skill. But women in the violence of professional boxing? No thanks.
You're a dinosaur.
