Pavlik is more active and more of an accumulation puncher. Tho Froch has evolved as a fighter and shown he can box, Kelly is much more orthodox in his stance while sometimes now Froch can come in,with his lead hand down like many British fighters do. AA tho shorter and stronger puncher isn't truly an infighter he loves to throw wide open hooks coming forward, rarely throws straight right hands like the one that finished Taylor.

I think Abraham has been mixing it at a higher level for the past few years and has better one punch power than Pavlik which is significant because Bute's chin is vulnerable. He's also not an alcoholic so I think Abraham is definitely the better fight. |

At the same time, Abraham throws 6 punchs in a round...He's not active enough to be a real threat except for the lucky punch.

Bute vs Abe for sure, a belt on the line and some leverage in the division
Pavlik may make more money and allow US exposure or a fight in Canada cause i doubt AA goes to Canada Pavlik is also high risk low reward, beating Pavlik at this stage wont do much, losing would really drop his already hurt stock |

Abraham's style fits perfectly to Bute, who would hits him and move easily. There is the lucky punch of course but that's it. Pavlik's style could be more dangerous bit as many posters pointed out, he has been inactive for a long time.
Which one has to gain the most in facing Bute? |

I'm not so sure Bute agree with that statement
![]() Pavlik is like AA, they had insane power at middleweight but faded once they stepped up in weight. But like you said Pavlik, in the US would be good for Bute and it would send a statement, even though i think Froch will beat the living shit of Bute 9/10 times. But Pavlik would also prepare him better than AA i think, AA is the worst SMW champion & had struggles against Bouadla and Steglitz. I think even Groves & Degale would beat him quite clear |

pavlik would be the best fight due to styles. abraham doesn't fight like froch in the slightest.
plus, it's a fight to see which of the two has more left in the tank. it's a cross roads fight, so it should happen. and people would be interested in this match up. i know i am. |

I've just thinking that it would be a better move for Bute to stay in this area for a while and try to mix in fights with guys like Abraham and Pavlik and then fight with Pascal and Kessler ( both very good money fights ) . Abraham holds the WBO title , so if Bute's team would make a fight against him on a neutral ground I think Bute would have very good chances to win this fight. Then a fight with Pavlik would be a good move, which I think Bute can win it , then Pascal in Canada and then maybe Kessler. All these fights make a very good financial sense. With Pascal and Kessler , Bute has poor chances to win but at least he'll make good money. |
