Quite possibly. Brewster, Chagaev, Thompson, Wach, Peter, even Haye were able to take more than one right hand flush on their chins without going down.

Sonny has a couple inches of reach but Wlad has 5 inches of height, which means the jab is coming down on 6 foot Liston from farther away. And those who have tasted Wlad's jab say it packs plenty of power.

But the real factor here is footwork. Wlad gets set and unset so much faster, something Ali deciphered. Liston would be bumbling around like a mummy, walking into thudding jabs until his face was hamburger.

Could argue all of those have shown to be able to take more punishment than Lewis.
Well not Haye but he did not try the bulldoze thing he got hit while backpedaling or moving his head a ton but not by coming forward and trying to get on the inside.

Wlad hits harder than Rahmaan or Mccall, i would favor Lewis but not because he could just bulldoze Wlad on the inside.

That shows complete lack of vision on how styles mesh.
If Lewis tries that and gets hit by a straight right or a left hook while coming forward its lights out.

He would be a lot more patient than that and find a better opening.

Lewis has shown to be able to take plenty of punishment in fights himself, not one-sided consistent punishment, because he was too good of a boxer to have let that happen, but enough to show that he can take a punch. Mercer, Briggs, Bruno and Mavrovic all tested his chin more than once without cracking it. Against Wlad it's wishful thinking to believe he'd just drop from the first right hand that lands. Would he be hurt? Sure. Would he crumble? History has shown that's not likely.

Tua hit harder than Rahman and McCall, and managed to catch Lewis more than once, but he was unable to knock him down.

I agree, there's far more to consider than simply how hard someone is capable of hitting. Wlad can get pheonomenal snap on his right hand if given full extension. If you smother him though his power decreases. His left, likewise, tends to lose a lot of power if you bully him on the inside. Lennox not only has the power, but the size to bully Wlad back and rough him up on the inside. If Wlad is forced to fight on the backfoot or to throw punches from a range he's not comfortable with I can't see him having half as much success.

Lennox was also a very smart operator when motivated. He stayed on task and followed the fight plan. He would do what it takes to get Wlad out of there but it would take some time as Wlad also follows the script closely these days.

I would favor Wlad in most matches. I would pick a 66-67 Ali, a 1987-1989 Tyson, and a 1979-1982 Holmes over Wlad. Liston and Holy are close to 50/50/. One thing is likely, Wlad would win a lot more than lose vs the above men. He's simply too big, too skilled, too strong, too smart, too well conditioned, has world class clinching skills if needed, and is very hard to out point.

If you're giving up 30+ pounds and six inches on any elite level fighter, you'd better have comparable or better punching power OR a near even reach and the edge in the speed if you expect to win.

Yes, it is part of boxing. Wlad is technical, and powerfull in a clinch. He can execute the defensive manurver with speed. Wlad has multiple layers to pass before the other guy can land a good one on the head. Wlad's offense is part of his defense.

First you have to get past his jab. Good luck Chuck. After that watch out for that right hand packed with TNT. Fighters quickly change their plans once they get hit by Wlad's right hand. And Wlad's final layer of defense is clinching. He can lock a guy up as good as Ali or Jack Johnson...maybe even better.

Wlad's footwork/speed, and guard are also very good. Due to his height, you need to get up close to tag him. And his stamina to move and box without resting on the ropes is excellent.
