Contrary to the popular opinion on ESB, Mundine is a solid victory for anyone, even at this point of his career. Given their nationality and debated decision in their first fight, this is an obvious fight which is good to have happening. Would Geale vs. Golovkin or Geale vs. Macklin be better? Yes. But so would the thousands of fights per year which would be better substitutes for the ones which take place. You've got to be realistic. Geale vs. Mudine II is a good fight. I've looked forward to all of Geale's recent fights.

Mundine will batter Geale - Too much pride, too much speed, too slick and he has a bigger will to win.
Everybody likes to make out that Choc is shot - he isn't. Choc has enough left in the tank to see off Geale again, he is past his prime but he isn't done.

I was shocked that the books gave Mundine so much of a chance. I figured it must be just because Mundine is famous in Oz, which I guess is the case.
I favor a much improved Geale to win over a diminished Mundine. I agree, Mundine still has something, but he's unarguably diminished from the first fight. Everything went his way in that one and he earned a narrow win. With everything shifting to Geale's favor, I don't see any reason to expect that again. More importantly, all of the money is on Geale's side. There are many big money fights to be made with this guy for years to come. We know for a fact, he will be coming forward and out throwing Mundine by a wide margin. Did we learn nothing from Cunningham/Adamek? What the judges in that fight had to pretend to see, in this fight they actually will see. |

Mundine might turn back the clock, the odds are good enough to test that theory.... Prime Mundine wld win this fairly easy but now it's close slightly in Geales favour.
Mundine fought for the money solely in his home country..... a wasted talent at his best 2005/06/07 |

For those who say a prime Mundine would win easily.
Daniel Geale is only just entering his prime - so it's a bit early to say a prime Mundine has him covered. Considering Geale is just entering his prime, he already has the runs on the board. 2 wins in Germany, one against Sturm - an opponent far superior than anything Mundine beaten. When Mundine went to Germany, he was KO'd by a feather fisted Sven Ottke. Mundine's biggest win either comes against a rather raw Daniel Geale or a severely weight drained Danny Green - who came into that fight a KO'd artist, but come fight night he was drained of any power he had. |
