Will this be broadcast anywhere? I doubt any TV station is carrying this?

You mean in the USA? Probably not. Wealth or EPIX if anything.

It will probably be a huge event in Germany. Both Charr and Gomez are based there and have a lot of recognition and popularity built up. Besides, with the K2 saga drawing near to a close the Gerries should have a continuity plan and start investing emotionally in some new blood at heavyweight.

You can argue Gomez was the greatest Crusier of all time in his prime. But now even a low-level contender like Charr will beat him. I'll say by TKO or maybe he'll make a UD.

Smart move by Gomez, though it's likely his last decent payday really

It's a shame we didn't get to see this.

While I did pick Charr, Gomez matches up with him more favorably than Airich did.

Anything been heard from him? He doesn't have anything lined up. He's at eight months of inactivity. He turns 40 this summer. He's all the way down at #36 in the WBC rankings (a standing he could've improved dramatically by snagging the Silver belt against Charr).

So...no retirement announcement or anything? It seems like withdrawing from that date last month - whatever the reason - pretty much ties a bow on his career.

Watch, he'll drop back down to Cruiser to face Mormeck in a summit of the "We moved up to HW to contend and regret having wasted our last decent years" club.

Seriously, I can't find any recent information on Gomez - or even a clear explanation of why he withdrew. (something he's made a habit of in the last couple of years...body starting to break down?)

Let's hope so!

With Eddie Chambers leading the way, the CW division could really be exciting in the next few years.

Whooda'thunkit?

So we have

Charr
Stiverne
Arreola
Fury

All trying to forge a path to the wbc belt. Set up 4 man tourney. Stiverne is mando, charr most recent challenger, fury and arreola ranked opponents.

Winner will be a worthy challenger to old man vit.
