my coach told me to run with my mouthpiece and hit the bags with it in. so you get used how to breath with it in.

if you are working on leg movements only, put a ball or even news paper between your body and elbows to develop the habit of keeping elbows tight

Not so much a trick of the trade, but when I was starting out I would move backwards and forwards with a broom on the floor between my feet, so that I wouldn't cross them whilst moving.

In Philadelphia I saw a heavyweight with a rope tied to each foot so that he wouldn't spread his legs too far apart.

I think it works better with resistance band or bungee cord.

But yeah ... this is definitely a worthwhile idea mate.

Some good tips!! Might try the tennis ball under the chin next time i go for a run.

Trainer Jack Blackburn had Joe Louis do nothing but work on punching a heavybag for several weeks in order to concentrate on shortening Louis' punches.

Yeap,its really hard when boxers learn something the wrong way,it takes weeks and months to correct it.

When Shadow Boxing, move forward throwing 2 jabs then stop where you are. From that position, lift your front foot and walk one step. If its not a natural movement, your feet are too wide.

a real old timers trick is to stop a bloody nose by putting a piece of carboard in your mouth and pushing it to the roof of your mouth with your tongue.

I have no idea why this works but it really does, effectively too
