Default Why do people call Canelo and Rigo green? Explain what green means!

Im a little confused with how you guys define the word "green" when talking about fighters.

If a 20 year old with 40 fights (regardless of the competition) is green then what the **** are you in your prime? Was Ward "green" when he fought Kessler, how bout Broner before Demarco? These guys had way less fights then Canelo. How much better do you Canelo can get? If you cant figure it out by 40 fights then you just aint gone get it. By the time he gets wiser in the ring his body would be declining.

Rigo is old as shit, but some how people thinks 10 more fights and THEN hill be better. WTF

If you wanna say fighters aren't good I get that, but **** the green talk.

Most fighters only appear to get better with time due to their matchups. Pacquaio, Hopkins and so on.

Thats why if you ask people when was bhops prime they'll get a little confused. Beinh at your prime and your best fight can be two different times

WIN or Lose Canelo is not Green ****ers.he may not be that talented, but **** the green talk.

I agree with a lot of what you say.

Id even say Ward was pretty green when he fought Kessler.

In comparison to Kessler anyway

Much like when they call someone raw.

Look at it from the same perspective when checking if a fruit is edible. A raw mango is still green. A sign that it's not ready for consumption.

Same with a fighter, it's like a short way of saying he's not ready yet.

Green = lack of experience.

A champion shouldn't be green but when you win a belt the way Canelo did then I can understand the criticism.

Ward didn't have alot of pro fights but he had an extensive amateur career and stepped it up and beat Kessler a reigning champion to win his first belt who has gone on to win another belt. Canelo won a vacant belt against Hatton who never did anything.

Canelo is talented and probably the real deal but he hasn't helped himself with his opponent selection since beating Rhodes, where Ward has gone through the best at 168lbs back to back almost.

I like Rigo he has an extensive amateur career and has performed fairly well in the pros his age (and maybe chin) are the only things that are going against him.....

Quality, not quantity. Having 40 plus fights don't mean squat if none of them were meant to be even remotely challenging.

That's right. Trout aside, Canelo is going to go from beating up the likes of Josesito Lopez, Sugar Shot Mosley, Matthew Hatton, Alfonso Gomez, and Kermit Cintron, to Floyd Mayweather Jr. The gap is huge. And somehow, even if he fails his biggest test to date against Trout, the fight still goes through.

The Rigo argument is moronic and made by Donaire fans who believe the sun shines out of him backside. With Canelo though I'd agree, I don't think he's peaked yet.

Just by making this thread you show you are still a GREEN ESB poster.

If you need us to explain this to you please continue to work on your forum posting skills. One day you will be ready like Canelo and Rigo.

By the way Rigo is not green. He has the most extensive amateur career out there and he has shown the transition has gone through.

I think Canelo is a prospect with insane upside, he will get better, he is 6 years younger than Ward who is in his prime, I can't blame him haters going to hate but we know who Canelo tried to fight.

yet you just happen to be the wbc sww champion.

i may be a little old school but the word champion and green should never be used in the same sentence.
