I don't know...at 5'10" he isn't exactly tiny, and his career low is 158.5 as a pro.

In the amateurs he already did quite a bit of climbing, from light welterweight in his teens all the way up to middleweight by age twenty - where he's remained for 10 years including his 6 since turning pro.

I mean, if there was PBF or Canelo money anted up I'm sure he'd make the effort to drain down - but for anything less it would be ill-advised IMO.

He isn't a huge middleweight, but he's comfortable. In fact, people have been saying for years that he might eventually be 168-bound (where he'll definitely be on the smaller side, but may still be effective if his power carries up and the extra lbs don't slow him down).

5'10 isnt tiny tiny, but most of the past crop of top middles in the 'new era' were larger then that... Hopkins 6 +, Taylor 6 +, Pavlik 6 +,

I think 5'10'' is actually more of a 154lb height to be honest if the guy has an average build like GGG.

But like you said, his lowest is 158.... Im sure if 154 was no problem for them then there would be more evidence as such.

I just find it interesting given his stature against Rosado.

King Gabe is extraordinarily tall for his class (the only other ranked six-footer being Vanes...whereas GGG is roughly average for MW, the same as or within an inch of virtually all his fellow titlists and the top contenders), and also thick as shit creating the appearance of hugeness. He must have hollow bones or something, to be that tall and muscular but still make 154 without ever looking drawn or unhealthy.

I recon he cant do it that comfortable. It will probably be damaging on long therm draining itself quite badly. And he probably doesn't need to, as he compete at highest level at his natural weight.

I bet thats why he doesnt do it. Knows he can be the best at middle, and is very confident of that, and doesnt want to harm himself making 154 like many fighters do to make a weight. But I think if he tried as hard as many top fighters do to make their weightclasses, he would be at 154. I think he just doesnt feel the need and so comes in at a healthy 160.

Hell, look at the Mandingo Warrior - all that brawn making him resemble a super middle sharing the ring with most opponents - and he stands 3" less than Rosado!

Hes just a smooth operator that looks like his pulse hasnt rose at all when they are introducing him to the crowd
