Matthysse is tough as nails, durable, powerful, relentless, and has a sickening body attack. But he's fairly basic and slow of hand and foot. Not the sharpest offensive fighter form-wise and timing-wise, either. I think Pacquiao (and Marquez) are a level above and I would pick both to beat him by decision.

Pac ain't making 140 no more. It's hard to move back down when you're putting on solid muscle to move up, particularly at his age.
Weighing in at 147 in his last fight should tell you all you need to know. |

Pac would beat Matthysse by decision in my opinion. Matthysse has not shown me the counter punching or moving/boxing ability to give Manny fits. Tough as nails and would land some nice shots on Pac, but I don't see Pac's chin completley gone and I think he takes what's thrown at him. He's not getting hit with the perfect counter from Matthysse, and I see Pac outworking and outlanding him to a UD.
