Default Re: If Floyd retires this year after beating Guerrero and Canelo

His career above 130 has been a let down to me personally.
He missed too many names and has been inactive too many times to get into the top 20.

I was convinced i would put him there by the end of his career but i think top 35 is fair which is still a great achievement.
He is a bit of a waste of a talent for me but that is only because he had the potential to do much more.

Some rampant flomos on here though always act like he is the greatest based on the "would have beat him anyway" logic.
Well sorry but resumes are not based on theoretical wins.

pac was/is on ped's. Leakage will come somewhere down the line.
please it doesnt make sense to shake everybodys hand after you beat Cotto if you had loaded wraps get the fuck out of here seriously.........

and what happened since losing to Mosley wheres the drug testing results for that fight? we already know Margarito had to cut weight in a short period of time but seriously wheres the drug testing results?
losing to Pac well P4P ranked #1 fighter not a bad loss there, ohh wait Cotto rematch? even though the mother fucker answered the Dr correctly each and every time the moment Cotto was clearly out of Gas the Puerto Rican Dr stopped the fight....

seriously get the fuck out of here with your ignorance

Shane
Oscar
Corrales
Castillo
Ortiz
Marquez
Hatton
Gatti
Cotto
Canelo
Guerrero
Hernendez
Judah

If he pulls this off and retires and stays retired he would have to go down as a top 10-15 all time great and thats being objective, sorry no way around it..name me another fighter who would be 45-0 9 times champion and a 4 time lineal champion..that is unheard of
Agreed, he would definately be an all-time great. He probably already is.

He is an ATG. There's just great variance as to where people put him.

I, personally, have him Top 20*** if he beats another top WW (Ghost) and then Canelo (a top SWW). Some people find that very hard to understand and some refute it because Floyd's black and their pinoy hero is sleeping on the job. Either way, look at this fag

Guess what? Floyd's a megastar, ATG. Pacturds... are sleeping. And will be lucky to finish top 150 ATG. LUCKY

Funny you say that, cos you are one of the biggest protractors of the Cotto Pac fight and that was ONLY 2lbs Dumb ass

He didn't move in weight for legacy. He moved up in weight so that he could get big money ppv fights with DLH and Mosley. If the big money fights were at 135 then he would have stayed there until he couldn't make weight anymore.

Mayweather would tell you himself. Legacy don't pay the bills. And if he developed Parkinsons like Ali legacy isn't going to take care of him.

He made not have a "Duran" or a "Hearns" but he got Benitezs and haglers. He accomplished feats that SRL, Duran did. That is to fight champions in his weight class and fight bigger champions in their weight class. So why shouldn't he belong? BTW i have Floyd and Pac above Hagler and Benitez. What Hagler did wasn't more amazing than what Floyd and Pac did.

I am not trying to hate/discredit Hagler but Who did Hagler beat that made him so special? His biggest wins were against blown ups of Hearns and Duran. and Benitez's have a lot of losses against people he shouldn't have. So i don't know why you think so highly of him. Hagler got a good resume but his wins are = of Oscar's. Haglers beating up smaller guys = Floyd beating Old Shane/out of prime Oscar who are both BIGGER than Floyd. The out of prime scalps that Floyd had at least they have a size advantage but where is Duran's and Hearn's advantages against Hagler???

Floyd deserves credit for his longevity. THere are many AtGs who reach his age and just completely falls apart and loses to scrubs. Floyd is still fighting Elite prime guys. Whether if you think his opponents are bums or not they are still champions and should be respected to that fact.

People always bring up the Duran and SRL crap but they fail to see the amazing feats that Floyd has accomplished, while Duran, SRL, Hagler couldn't. Like he never lost against elite competition and never even been put on his ass. While other ATGS get ko and shorter primes, and loses to lesser guys.

Being amazing for a long time > being amazing for a short time. Being consistent is what ATGs do.

A good/solid resume but nothing over impressive that makes my eyes pop out.Again solid opponents but not many Huge prime threats if any at all.H.O.F.?.....Absolutely, G.O.A.T?........Not even close not even top 10 actually.Everybody's entitled to their own opinion but calling him the best ever is pretty premature especially while active considering the long history of great fighters,if you do your a clearly a fan boi simple as that no argument.Sure floyd is one of few to accomplish certain things like staying undefeated with solid overall fighters but Robinson/Armstrong/Ali,pep,Joe louis ect are immediately in G.O.A.T time conversation for a reason. They fought everybody no excuses, & they accomplished pretty great feats themselves along with many others. Not going to blame floyd for ducking a lot of fighters but it's pretty obvious his career is carefully managed & you'd be stupid argue other wise.Again good fighter easily 1st ballot H.O.F but lets stop the dumb best ever or unbeatable BS he's clearly not.
