Not forgetting the most important part...
Genuine punch or not there was no way Liston was going to win that fight regardless of what shape he was in or how determined. I rate Liston very highly h2h but at that stage of their careers Ali was just too much for him to handle. |

I've yet to see any conclusive proof it's a dive.

Ali had done a fair bit of canvas time leading up to the fight and Liston was more than capable of taking punishment to win a fight, see the Williams fight. Liston was scared most likely by the consequences of him owing unresolved debts to people that he shouldn't be mixed up with. |
