Mercer would be the one doing the jabbing not Primo. Primo gets pushed back, battered up and stopped. That is, if Mercer takes the fight seriously.

On paper I should be favouring Carnera, but I actualy think it very likley that Mercer coiuld outpoint him.
Mercer is one of those fighters who was so close to being something realy special, but was missing one cog somwhere. |

Assuming Mercer takes his bout with a time-traveling gigantic heavyweight champion from yesteryear more seriously than he took his tune-up against the Boogeyman (And why wouldn't he?) he should pound on Carnera.

Are you serious? Mercer has one of the greatest jaws of the modern era. Not even a young Wlad could knock him out despite pounding on him non-stop the whole fight, and Ray was already way past his prime at that point. The man took the best that Cooper, Morrison, Holyfield and Lennox could throw at him without wilting yet Carnera knocks him out? Be realistic.

A gigantic man with gigantic power. If Holyfield could drop Mercer, Carnera would decapitate him. |

Carnera stopped a lot of fighters but they weren't often durable fighters - he just drowned them with his size.
He didn't have the one punch snap to KO Mercer, imo. |
