The longer he stays at the weight, the more chance he has got of losing IMO. If he is to ever lose, it will be at this weight. Because he is obviously struggling, and he struggled in the last division.

Draining yourself to make weight, is never good, fights ARE won and lost on the scales. Weight draining is serious business, just ask Bad Chad or Oscar. Its a game of huge risk.

Arum, Roach and Pacquiao were masters of the craft. Some of those fights were already won well before they even got in the ring. And they knew it. When you back the weight draining up with super juice, your opponent aint got a hope in hell. They are half KO'd before stepping through the ropes.

They look like:
Rafael gets slated on here but this is a decent article, with direct quotes on what you're talking about:

Broner said before Rees (37-1-1, 18 KOs) was signed as his opponent, he did not consider going to 140 pounds. That move is for the future.

"Negative," Broner said. "That's what everybody wants you to do. They've just seen me dominate and put on a great performance -- a hell of a performance. He was the world champion, DeMarco, and they want me to just automatically go up to 140.

"No, I just moved up to this weight. I still make the weight eating steak and potatoes every night at training camp. I make the weight comfortably, so I'm going to stay here for a lot of good fights that I still can have at 135 pounds. So, I'm going to flush out this lightweight division and then we can go up to the light welterweight and crush their dreams. So, we're going to stay here for a while."

You could argue he's just lying in this interview, but I don't think so.

Broner has a big future whether the fight happens with Burns or not. Burns could do with the fight and may need the fight for payday and also to get the bigger fight. I think Ricky could step up to light-welterweight if im honest. I would like Ricky if the fight with Broner dont come off maybe to step up in weight if he beats Vasquez.

The thing is I honestly think Ricky if he beats Vasquez for his own point of view and to be able to get money from Broner for a bigger fight he maybe should go for the winner of Bogere and Abril to be able to make more demands in the fight with Broner.

Broner will be rooting for Burns with Vazquez big time.

I think he knows a Burns fight would be easy to made while a fight with Vazquez is virtually impossible.
