Rate Pacquiao's chin on a scale of 1 to 10. I don't want to hear anything about 'early in his career', or shit about him being malnourished. Your chin is your chin. Rate it honestly based on the evidence. All knockdowns are below.
I'd rate it about a 7. Good, but far from Iron. Last edited by Smokin' Joe; 01-21-2013 at 07:05 AM. |

I'd say it's about 8.5/10. A great chin that, since coming to America and being shielded by a very weak defence, has been through a who's-who list of incredible fighters who could punch pretty hard, and it's taken it this long to be knocked down/out.

6/10
the reason he gets away with it is because of the fact that he is fast and he tires his opponent first, he can take a few shots from marg and cotto but if he's facing an accurate fighter like marquez or floyd he would get ktfo due to his not so decent chin. |

Mayweather's been on the canvas once, technically, but wasn't shaken up. Mosley had him momentarily stunned. Corley had him hurt for a short time. That's about it though. |

Pacquiao gets hit much much more and has been in consistently with higher level opposition, and during his prime was barely ever hurt. Mayweather got rocked from a single punch from a non-puncher like corley.

Mayweather being visibly hurt less times than Pacquiao his testament to his defence, not his chin. The man gets hit far less, and is therefore far less likely to be hurt. Pacquiao's been getting hit with those Judah, Mosley and Corely shots on a consistent basis since coming to the US, and not once, up until JMM 4, has he shown signs of being hurt like Mayweather has. Safe to say, peak-wise, Pacquiao has a more durable chin based on evidence of his actually being put to the test fight after fight.
