He was never good enough to be rated when Calzaghe was champ, yet was a Ring mag top 10 fighter when past his best, for beating A Green coming off a loss. That shows how weak todays era is.
A good example of this is how Froch had to beat old past best, boiled down G Johnson to challenge Ward, and that was considered a top SMW pairing.
Yet years previously Sheika had to beat prime fresh G Johnson in order to get to challenge Calzaghe.
That shows how far the division has dipped and to think Froch only won by Mdec

Joe's own promoter admits Calzaghe was rarely motivated and was always looking for ways to get out of fights while still chasing down mando bums the main issue with Calzaghe and Johnson was that Joe managed to duck Johnson not once not twice but thrice surely anyone looking at the record could see something was off here.

I think the Johnson-Dawson I fight showed that stylewise Johnson was all wrong for him. Calzaghe would of ended up getting in heavy exchanges with a naturally bigger opponent who had the power to hurt him.

And, to counter, the Calzaghe camp accuse Ottke of ducking him and even refusing a big-money fight in a neutral venue.

Now, do we know for certain what terms were offered and who turned what down or are we just relying on the words of the individual camps? Because if we're relying on the words of the untrustworthy scumbag W arren or Ottke's camp - who, considering the history of robberies involving Ottke, only a fool would trust - we're not going to get the full picture of anything.

Sauerland, W arren, Ottke and Calzaghe have all proven themselves dishonest and, in some cases, habitual liars, so presenting anything any of them said as if it were the gospel truth is a ludicrous position to take.
