I thought Marquez - Pacquiao 3 was close . Maybe I should rewatch it.

I respect Oscar for making it competive even though he lost. I also rate Hopkins higher in an ATG list due to his loss to Calzaghe. I believe sometimes losing can raise a fighters stock especially when they put a good performance at an old age.

I thought it was ALOT closer than the Cotto fight. There was an element of doubt before the result was read, although it was obviously the right one. I was never in doubt in the Cotto fight, although he did well.

If you noticed, against Forbes, DLH through jabs in all 12 rounds
winning all of them. Agains Pac, DLH looked physically weak.
You are the first fan saying that Floyd did not fight the rematch
for the reason that you mention which I never heard before.
comparing Forbes to Mayweather who still managed to bust Oscar's face some

Because the SD was a joke.

Floyd won 8-4 easy but they wanted to do a rematch so judges had to have it close...

Its not that bad, it was only one weight division he was moving up to.

Look at Pac, the Flomos were expecting Pac to jump from 135lbs to 154lbs to fight ODLH and they can't see that by ODLH moving down 1 division and Pac moving up 2 divisions to make the fight possible is a fair deal.

De La Hoya was still top level at 154.

He was arguably still the no.1 guy in the division at 154.

He may not have been prime, but he hadnt slipped all that much.

Good fight, shouldnt have been a SD though

youre new here on the esb forums. what youll soon find out is that not only are some people here just plain stupid, some are also in need of professional psychiatric help.

floyd landed 207 to dlhs 122 and at a higher percentage clip(43 to 21) as well(better defense).

oscar fighting a year earlier with a ko win over mayorga and winning the wbc belt.

im not a huge floyd fan but a guy whose true weight is 147 and being able to actively win in both divisions is pretty remarkable, even in todays pathetic state of boxing.

De La Hoya was younger than Mayweather is now, was fighting about as often as Mayweather is now, he was coming off a knockout of Mayorga, had never been beaten up, and was was fighting basically a blown-up Junior Welterweight at 154....Next.
